Tear Down This Wall

And from the rubble build a bridge.

At least symbolically and metaphorically.

Tear Down This Wall was to be a bi-national border wall sounding and arts event organized by some German musicians who named the event after something President Ronald Reagan  said when he saw the Berlin Wall.

Back in the day when building walls was unAmerican.

But the U.S. Border Patrol for a bunch of reasons said: NYET! to the event permits.

So it seems the event will only take place in Mexico along the wall.

But that does not mean you can't hear and see it in America.

You just can't join in.

Or can you?

What if you hum along?

Or sing?

Or dance?

Or play a kazoo?

Or simply listen.

I don't know.

You get the idea.

The possibilities are endless.

Anyway one thing is clear:  I'll be conducting a FREE border wall amplification, border wall mallet building and border wall playing workshop from 10-11 a.m. June 3 on the Mexico side of Friendship Park in Tijuana.

And after that all kinds of fun stuff will be going on until 4:30 or so along the wall.

On the Mexican side.

Not the American side.

Because it was banned in America.

Because Reagan's words might inspire unAmerican thoughts and deeds.

Or something like that...
