"The time has come," the Walrus said...

"...To talk of many things..."

Sounding Alice is a score for the Walrus On The Beach Scene from W.W. Young's 1915 silent film: Alice In Wonderland.

The film was played at a glacial speed, encouraging the viewer to explore each individual frame and giving the score time to breathe

The score --- Sounding Alice --- was composed and performed in one take using an early 1900's pump organ and viola.

Weights were placed on the keys of the pump organ and the bellows were controlled with foot pedals allowing for viola accompaniment.

The choice of instruments, circa. early 1900's organ and viola allow for creation of an accompanying sound work which could have been produced at the time of the film's release in 1915.
